Paying taxes in Colombia feels like a scam

Well, I just paid taxes in Colombia. And, despite all the consciousness about how tributing help the country achieve higher welfare, it doesn’t stop the scam feeling.

This week, the government changed a law that enables them to use our taxes to potentially buy votes in the upcoming elections. More than funding social welfares, our taxes fund political parties that only look for their selfish interests.

One lie we continuously repeat to ourselves is that our taxes are not too expensive, but when you see the rate and the benefits you get with what you pay, there is a clear gap. Basically, paying taxes in Colombia is a leap of faith.

This is basically me complaining; this is not intended to be an informative or assertive post. Just me getting that out of my chest.
